Aim of the Office

HIV infection remains a major global public health issue. Since the epidemic’s early years, the Hellenic Center for Disease Control and Prevention (HCDCP), established the HIV infection Office, aiming at monitoring the transmission dynamics of HIV and co-ordinating interventions to confront the HIV epidemic. In later years, the Office has been renamed to HIV and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) Office and is involved in the surveillance of STIs.
